Why we should drink water

We all know that water is an essential drink in our everyday lives. But, why? Oh my, there are SO many reasons! I could go into the physiological reasons, but I don’t want to bore you! Approximately 60% of the human body is water! Some of the top reasons to drink water are:

  • Helps you lose weight. (I bet I have your attention now!)
  • Keeps skin healthy.
  • Helps fight infection.
  • Healthy heart!
  • Boosts energy.
  • Prevents constipation.
  • Improves productivity.
  • Flushes out toxins.
  • Suppresses appetite.

I could go on! But I think you can see the importance of drinking enough water. How much water should you drink? That’s a great question! And there are many factors to take into consideration here. Are you male or female? What kind of climate do you live in? How active are you? The average male needs 13 cups of water per a day (3 liters) while that average female needs 9 cups of water per a day (2.2 liters). These are recommended amounts and it’s always a good idea to talk to your physician to be sure!

So go drink up!
